Linkwood 26 Years Old. Wine Cask
Single Malt - Scotland - 55.50% 8 Oak is leading the way but in an elegant way. A very spicy dram. To be matched with a beef stroganoff maybe.
Lombard Single Malt Glen Keith 1985
Single Malt - Scotland - 41.90% 8 A lovely mature malt which skilfully blends maturity and freshness.
Lombard Single Malt Teaninich 1984
Single Malt - Scotland - 40.00% 8 Another whisky where the palate fails to deliver to what the nose promises!
Longmorn 15 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 45.00% 8 I had never noticed the rose water note before, I also find it in Linkwood – from the same valley.
Longmorn 15 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 45.00% 8 A rewarding marriage of weight and elegancy.
Longmorn 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 48.00% 8 Great balance and depth. At last! Longmorn gets the bottling it deserves.
Longmorn 31 Years Old Bottle for the Whisky Fair
Single Malt - Scotland - 49.80% 8 An extremely complex – and for me, pleasant – nose is matched by a dense and demanding palate.
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A belter. Highest recommendation
Longrow 10 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A beautifully composed whisky. Classic intense, Scottish flavours.
Longrow 10 Years Old, Sherrywood
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Many blenders feel that second-fill sherry casks give a more balanced result than first-fill. This whisky is a lesson in that technique.
Mackmyra Moment Vintage
Single Malt - Sweden - 48.60% 8 Wonderfully intense. Comes across like a multi-grain barley / rye whisky. A drop of water takes off the edge.
Mackmyra Special:01 Eminent Sherry
Single Malt - Sweden - 51.60% 8 A lovely dram. Delicate on the nose, quite brisk on the palate. But with a good substance. Invigorating.
MacPhail's Collection Highland Park 30 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 8 More robust and less sophisticated than the distillery bottlings.
Maker's Mark 46
Bourbon - U.S.A. - 47.00% 8 Energetic and with considerable class. Highly recommended.
Master of Malt 8 Years Old
Blended - Scotland - 40.00% 8 Cleanliness, style and substance. A wee cracker!
Master of Malt (Single Cask Series) Paul John 6 Years Old
Single Malt - India - 59.70% 9 Absolutely stunning. If this is the distillery I think it is, it continues to impress me with its releases.
Master of Malt Ardbeg That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Blended Malt - Scotland - 51.90% 8 A perfect islander. More phenolic than smoky and so well balanced. The ocean in your glass. Bring the oysters!
Master of Malt Laphroaig 10 Years Old 1998
Single Malt - Scotland - 55.50% 8 The perfect image of the countryside in autumn on a wet chilly morning, with a mixture of fog and smoke hovering over the fields and the woods. Very suggestive.
Michael Collins Blend
Blended - Ireland - 40.00% 8 Visually, a very attractive whisky – rich amber and gloriously viscous. If my suspicions are correct, an earlier expression of this whisky reminded me of a Peshwari Nan. Must be shared and discussed...
Michter's Barrel Strength Rye
Rye - U.S.A. - 54.00% 9 An example of fine American spirit.
Michter's Single Barrel Bourbon 10 Years Old
Bourbon - U.S.A. - 47.20% 8 An absolutely fascinating nose.
Michter's Straight Rye 10 Years Old
Rye - U.S.A. - 46.60% 8 Intense! Some may find it too dry and bitter, but to me, its fun!
Midleton Dair Ghaelach
Pot Still - Republic of Ireland - 58.10% 8 It displays both youthful and mature-ish notes. One thing it definitely doesn't lack is oak though!
Midleton Very Rare
Blended - Ireland - 40.00% 8 In general, Midleton is a bit too elegant for me, but this is a lovely vintage. The Yquem of whiskies?
Midleton Very Rare
Pot Still - Ireland - 40.00% 8 Don't know how Barry Walsh keeps this standard up year on year, the most robust MVR in ages. Bravo!
