Sugar Syrup is simply a mixture of sugar and water. The mixture should be gently heated until all the sugar is dissolved and the liquid becomes clear. Allow the mixture to cool before adding to cold drinks. The basic mixture is equal parts sugar to water but this can be varied to taste. It is best to start with a good quality refined white granulated sugar, but you can experiment with raw, cane and darker sugars.
