8 From a sadly silent still: a great malt that is too good to chill, but wonderful with smoked salmon or scallops. Or, deservedly, caviar. You serve vodka? Shame on you!

Cooper's Choice Longmorn 1975, 27 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00%
8 Complex, as Longmorn always is, but I wonder about the cask.

Silver Barley Milroy's
Blended - Scotland - 40.00%
6 A very young, new-make like whisky. On the bitter side. A fresh nose isn't enough.

Master of Malt Aultmore 5 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 66.80%
7 At this strength, one wonders what it's trying to prove.

Jack Daniel's Unaged Rye
Tennessee - U.S.A. - 40.00%
Well, a new make diluted to 40%. Not sure what kind of consumers it will target. Maybe intended as an alternative to vodka? Or used as a training device ? Anyway, it is unfair to score unaged whisky.

J. P. Wiser's Double Still Rye
Rye - Canada - 43.40%
7 A subtle rye whisky with more than a passing resemblance to an Irish grain whiskey.

Berrys' Single Grain Scotch Whisky 2005, Strathclyde, Cask #106491
Single Grain - Scotland - 58.70%
7 No need to add water to this one.
