Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Pleasant, but the burnt wood knocks it back.

BenRiach 16 Years Old 1995 Cask 7164
Single Malt - Scotland - 58.30% 8 This whisky is oak dominated. Too much for me as we have lost the distillery character, but the nose is expressive. Beware of water, it kills it.

BenRiach 17 Years Old 1992 Rioja Wood
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Slightly over-active finishing cask has had a negative effect.

BenRiach 17 Years Old 1993 Burgundy Wood
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Just a little lacking in full integration. You can sense the whisky sitting underneath the finish.

Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00% 9 Soft, subtle and not overwooded. Just shades it over the 25yo this time.

Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A constantly shifting but balanced mix of sweetness and smoke and distillery character.

BenRiach Authenticus Peated Single Malt 21 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Another region-buster and a good one too.

BenRiach Curiositas 10 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Quite a nice dram but a bit edgy.

BenRiach Curiositas peated malt, 10 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 40.00% 7 A Speyside? The most Islayish of all the Speysides I have ever tasted. Interesting as a freak even if wood toughens the whole profile a little.

BenRiach Dark Rum Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 A cheery dram, opening up on the sunny side with definite rum colours on the nose. A dash of water sweetens the palate.

BenRiach Heredotus Famosus Pedro Ximinez Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Fantastic balance and richness of character.

BenRiach Horizons 12 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00% 7 Triple distillation heightens the aromatics though can't really see the oloroso influence.

BenRiach Importanticus Fumosus Tawny Port Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Worth a look.

BenRiach Madeira wood finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Balanced and with good weight. A good addition to the range.

Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Great balance. When Madeira works it really works!

BenRiach Over 12 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 7 Herbal in the dry way. Leaves a bitter grassy note in the finish. I'd rather have a cup of tea.

BenRiach Over 20 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 7 Muscular. Welcome in a blizzard but don't expect Mozart when you are likely to get Wagner.

BenRiach Pedro Ximinez Sherry Wood Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 A cheery dram, opening up on the sunny side with the definite rum colours on the nose. A dash of water sweetens the palate.

BenRiach Sauternes Finish 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Lacks a little depth in the centre, but of interest.

BenRiach Sherry Matured
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Good, sweet and balanced.

BenRiach Solstice 15 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00% 8 A somewhat lurid colour, but this is an extremely sound and stylish BenRiach with an integration not often seen in finished whiskies.

BenRiach Authenticus 25 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 A long, complex and harmonious run of flavour. Excellent.

Single Malt - Scotland - 57.60% 8 Very enjoyable and marked up for balance and poised integration.

BenRiach Septemdicem 17 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 7 Another fine smoked Benriach.

BenRiach Solstice 17 Years Old Batch 2
Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00% 7 A balance struck between spirit and oak(s). It shouldn't work, but it does.

Caskstrength & Carry On Benriach 1996 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 55.20% 8 Sherry and Bourbon goodness, quite unusual for Benriach. Perfect for these autumnal evenings.

Connoisseur's Choice BenRiach 1981
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 7 The bourbon cask influence is obvious. A refreshing dram but simplistic. Water ruins it.

Dewar Rattray Benriach 15 Years Old, Cask Collection
Single Malt - Scotland - 59.90% 7 Quite an energetic guy which needs water to be tamed. A classic light Speysider, lacking elegance though.

The Glenronach Allardice 18 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00% 8 Deep,layered and sweet with great balance. Seek it out.

The Glenronach Original 12 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00% 7 Decent dram but seems a tad dolled up.

The Whisky Exchange BenRiach 21 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 56.70% 9 Complex with excellent balance. A typical for a Speyside, but it's one hell of a dram!
