Celtique Connexion 1993 Monbazillac Wood Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 Quite a strong character. Uncompromising warmth. Good balanced. You need to like it hot to enjoy the dram.
Celtique Connexion Braes of Glenlivet 1985
Single Malt - Scotland - 50.00%
7 The cask character somewhat dominates this zesty but delicate whisky.
Celtique Connexion Bruichladdich 1992 Spirit Safe & Cask Selection
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
7 It took me a while to get past the very pale colour (white wine) and the distinctive aroma but, in the end, I liked this manifestation of The Laddie.
Celtique Connexion Cadillac Wood Finish 1990
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 A whispering dram. Nothing wrong with that. You've just got to tune in to its delicacy. The character is full and complex. Dangerously enticing especially with a dash of water.
Celtique Connexion Caol Ila 1982
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 A confusion of flavours that don't seem to have rounded in the cask
Celtique Connexion Champagne Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00%
Celtique Connexion Clonmel Peated 8 Years Old
Single Malt - Ireland - 40.00%
7 Another smoky whiskey is always welcome, but I think I may have tasted this under another name.
Celtique Connexion Islay Single Malt Spirit Safe and Cask , 8 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 58.80%
Celtique Connexion Mortlach 1989 Spirit Safe & Cask Selection
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
6 Lacks contribution from wood. Lacks complexity.
Celtique Connexion Sauternes, 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 46.00%
Celtique Connexion Speyside 1989, Armagnac Wood Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 Still sweet, but much more rounded. Real depth of flavour, tastes more like Armagnac than whisky. I would like to try it with pecan pie.
Celtique Connexion Speyside 1989, Sauternes Wood Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
7 Which Sauternes? The flavours of childhood, rather than sophistication.
Celtique Connexion Speyside 1990, Vin de Paille du Jura Wood Finish
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 I am totally seduced by its eccentricity and intensity. Where's the whisky? who cares? Pour me another. Bring on the chicken mole.....
Celtique Connexion Strathmill Old Spirit Safe and Cask 16 Years Old
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
Celtique Connexion Vin de Paille du Jura Wood Finish 1994
Single Malt - Scotland - 43.00%
8 A rich and comforting character. Complex but not complicated. To warm you up on a dull evening. Play Beethoven Symphony N°7 (second movement) and you'll be in heaven.
Glann Ar Mor 2005 3 Years Old
Single Malt - France - 46.00%
8 Like a walk in a field after a few rainy days. Nicely invigorating. It does not really need water or just a wee drop to cut some edges.
Kornog Sant Ivy 2011
Single Malt - France - 57.80%
7 A thirst quenching dram. Too harsh neat. A good dash of water tames it.
Obviously young. But structured.
Kornog Taouarc'H Kentan 2006 3 Years Old
Single Malt - France - 57.10%
7 The profile of a well knitted young islander. Of the gentle sort. Alcohol is well mastered. Invigorating and cuddling at the same time.
Kornog Taouarc'h Trived 12 BC 3 Years Old
Single Grain - France - 46.00%
8 A stunning achievement for such a young whisky. Don't look for complexity (yet) but you do get the full enjoyment of its character.
