C57 is right, take it to a computer repair shop. If you keep trying to turn it on, you'll end up breaking the switch and probably pop a few of the "pots" in the motherboard.
Buy a decent SM to drown your sorrows when you pay for the repair. I recommend an Aberlour A'Bunadh - being CS, it'll numb the pain fairly quickly.

That was my first thought as well, but I decided to be nice about it. I hope he's done a backup file on an external hard-drive of all his whisky information.
