USA - 21st July

USA also includes Canadian subscriptions.
UK also includes European subscriptions.

If you have not received your copy within 7 days of these dates then you really need to contact your subscription agents and get a replacement sent out. Details are provided with your subscription letter.

Please note! Posting messages about missing copies in the forum will not get them replaced or resolve the problem.

Now you've taken all the fun out of wondering when our next issue will grace our postbox. Well, at least for the next three issues, then it's back to posting and chatting about when our favorite periodical will be delivered, as per normal. Nice to know the approximate dates that the issue will arrive. I still would like to annex Devon 'though. Musky P.

Thanks for the info Matt.

I do not subscribe and thus its a great help to know when I should expect a new issue to hit the racks.

But I must admit, that I'm more than a little amazed by the inability of WM to get this website to reflect a new edition. Should'nt really be more than a few minutes work to change the info in the "Out Now" box. :shock:

Usually I rely on the forum in order to know when a new edition is out...

It has just arrived Bullie...picked up my copy at Press Stop in Stockholm a couple of hours ago.

Well, as a subscriber, I was hoping to recieve it a day or two before the shops.... :shock:

As ususal it will turn up i my mail in a couple of weeks after....

What's the point of subscribing when you don't get it in time? I thought subscribers usually got the magazine a couple of days before it hits the shops...

Have you called the subs department and asked where your copy is?

They will send you a replacement as soon as they know it is missing, they do not read the forums.

Don't want to repeat my self, but posting here will not help. You must contact the subs department directly.

Got mine yesterday, seemingli 2 weks late... Luckily for me I don't see it in the shops here at all so I don't really realise that it is late like others on this forum. To be quiet honest I don't mind the lateness as it is the only way I can get it.

Already looking forward to next months then, even if I have yet to finish the current issue! The trek to the shop, hunting through all of the magazines, and then, as usual, having to ask someone if they have the latest issue is part of the fun, and what a reward!

Congratulations to you as well, Lawrence. Some well-deserved recognition for the Victoria Whisky Festival. It was my first whisky festival and I think it was a great one that others will now have to live up to.

I read Michael Jackson's column and, I have to admit, felt a bit of pride of immediately knowing a Twain/whisky connection that was not known by an established writer such as him. I used it in Crieftan's much acclaimed :wink:

"Word Association". It's from a short piece simply titled, "Niagara":

Trading for forty-rod whisky, to enable you to get drunk and happy and tomahawk your families, has played the everlasting mischief the picturesque pomp of your dress, and here you are, in the broad light of the nineteenth century, gotten up like the ragtag and bobtail of the purlieus of New York.

Actually, it's quite possible that Michael Jackson knew of this but didn't want to reference it. It's from a piece that some consider insulting to the native people's of this land. It's difficult to determine if Twain was trying to represent prevalent attitudes of the day or if he was showing his own prejudices. Clearly, it doesn't portray the consumption of whisky in the best light either.

55 arrived in Northern California yesterday. Leafing through the issue I experienced a bit of de ja vu on page 27 and saw that Ian Buxton was reviewing Deanston Distillery again. But it is just a case of failure to update the dateline from last month.
Looks to be a good lineup of articles.

It was a near run thing, what with the ice just going out this week! Nearly holed three big freighters' coming through Sioux Narrows from the Factors' in Upper Canada.

This time of year we normally have skis on the front of the mail sled and pontoons on the back in case of a sudden thaw, but with faster sleds due to the bigger litters this year service has improved by several weeks...

Same here, our igloos are still up and running, hopefully not for much longer, must move the collection to more secure storage (structure made of flattened Bruichladdich tins) or all the labels will come off in the melt.
