In the last WM a article was published on naming Whiskies and geographical locations in Scotland.

And URL was placed where a CDRom would be available with recording on how to pronounce these names, and more historical information.

Unfortunally this site doesnt work (yet). I would love to get this CDRom!

Anyone has some information if this CDRom is available yet, if this site will ever be up, etc?

Greetings,

Jeroen Kloppenburg

Jeroen

I've been in touch with Pip Hills about this. The article in WM had overtaken the work on the disk, but it is almost ready.

Cheers, Lex

Whee, very nice.

As A dutch native speaking person its often not hard to speak out the phonetics (correct name?) of those Gaelic placenames. But the way it is written, and where to put the emphasis is just so hard to determine.

Can't wait to see the product done Image

Hi all

Heard from Pip Hills that the CD should be out next week for a price of £7.50. I got a pre-release copy: CD offers the pronunciations of almost 120 distillery names plus information on the origin/derivation of most names. As to meanings of distillery names, I was very glad to hear some marketing myths being debunked .....

Review will appear in the next update of "Celtic Spirit" (to be posted end May / early June).

Cheers, Lex

Hi Peter and all

Pip told me that the CD will be available soon via the usual whisky outlets. If people still can't get it where they live, it can be ordered directly from him as well then.

So give it just a wee bit more time!
