ISSUE 68 IS OUT NOW

Postby les taylor » Fri Dec 07, 2007 1:19 pm

Yep it's true Dave the postie has been round. And Issue 68 has hit the mat. I'm pleased as I only have the last page to read in Issue 67.

That is quick - it only seems like the last issue was out a month ago. Looking forward to reading my copy which will hopefully be there when I get home tonight :)

Thanks for the posting Les, nice surprise, just in time for the holidays. I'll have to start checking the local kiosk I get it from.

Good news!
But again a visitors guide to Japan? It seems that there already have been around two of them in the last few issues...

Part one of Mr Broom's Japanese guide appeared in WM67, Part two is in Wm68. Dave had so much information it made sense to divide it between two issues.

Just so you know WM69 goes to press in a week or so - dont worry will not be out until the new year. :D

It came this morning. As usual a couple of days later than most other folk. Don't understand why our mail seems to be so slow :x .

Oh don't complain! :D
I'm looking at about 6 weeks for delivery, just in time for Rabbie Burns night!

Hey Les, do you think that Dave might consider emigrating to Wooden Lake in Canada?

Now a fully paid up member. The perfect Chrimbo present. Not sure if I get this edition or not....

Got a copy at WL and read it about ten times. Don't think I have ever spent so much time in the loo.

Really useful resource and interesting contributors. I Like Dave Broom's style and he is very funny in person too.

Gotta check the newstand tomorrow. The girl is usually expecting me, and will keep one on the side for me.

Pete I'm sure it's not a problem, Dave likes a quality Cider and is a season ticket holder at Chelsea. I'll ask him.

Good looking issue #68 there! But nowhere to be found at either of the 2 places that stock it. And it seems it won't be available until the second week of next year. That's too long to wait!!!

Yes Les, that's exactly what I'm thinking! Probably easier in the long run, but sending it to Norway might be a hassle? I'll probably get taxed for every incoming issue 25% or something!!! We'll see, I may just give it a try!

In the article Bourbon's Oasis by Rob Allanson, the second paragraph opens, "Louisville is, of course, the capital of Kentucky, the home of bourbon. "

There's an old joke that goes, "how do you pronounce the name of the capital city of Kentucky: is it Louis-ville or Louise-ville?" The answer is: neither. It is pronounced FRANKFORT.

Sadly, this has to be my first post. Otherwise the site is great. I can't ever find the magazine at B&N even though they claim to carry it.

The guy who rows these across the Atlantic by canoe will be a while yet. I think he has a girlfriend in Reykjavik.

Six weeks delay is inexplicable, incomprehensible, and inexcusable. Not even snail mail is that slow. Thank goodness for Malt Advocate.

If it cheers you up at all Mr. T, we have a similar frustrating wait for the Malt Advocate on this side of the pond. Maybe there's two guys who each row half way then swap bundles.

Maybe we should all pair up, double up on domestic subscriptions, and mail each other the surplus copies when they arrive--it would certainly be faster, and probably wouldn't cost much more.
