Yes the April issue of whisky mag has arrived, very early! Ah well just about to open it up.

Does this mean we have to go 2 months with no mag now.

I've been out since 8am. Taking the wee fella to his swimming lesson, followed by his football coaching (he has a very sporting morning, whilst I make inroads into the Saturday papers!!).

We've just popped into my work for 10 minutes after a spot of lunch - so hoping the postie will have left me a nice surprise when we get back home!!

Matt, i had a very bad train journey last weekend, bus from sheffield-manchester-preston! Try and get some money back! Virgin trains if they are the ones you used are normally quite good at that.

LSD the cover price in the UK is £4.25. So actually with the current exchange rate your $6.99 is in real terms cheaper than in the UK where it is edited and printed. You should be on your knees thanking your lucky stars.

I'm still waiting for issue #69, hopefully the first to arrive with my new subscription! But I have yet to finish issue #69, so I'm patient.

I saw it in Borders through the window when I was passing this morning. Unfortunately that was before they opened.

Kevin Macalister did it in Home Alone 2 when he broke the toy shop window, like him you could just say you did it to set the alarm off to catch the burgulars, you managed to stop them getting away with loads of stuff but oddly they did steal a whisky mag.

The evening was fantastic, thanks Les, a perfect end to a great day. Issue 70 is still waiting to be unwrapped from it's plastic bag. Maybe tomorrow . . .

So tell me Matt, Rob, whoever...did anyone notice that issue 69 and 70 both state April 2008? Check out Les' pic of his copy, was it a typo which only appeared on the WL precopies?

Since I just received Issue 69, yesterday, I guess we're only a month behind the other continent rather than the 6 weeks we used to "enjoy".

(Oh and LSD please note that we used to pay $6.95, so from our perspective it's only gone up 4 cents!)

I know that's when they come out in Norfolk, howbeit may, I'm sitting here looking at Issue 69, (in my hand) which cover shows April 2008 and the picture of Issue 69 posted by Les clearly shows April 2008 as well. On a side note Issue 68 states March 2008.

It's obviously a typo, which I know happens from my past experience in editoring a university rag back in the 70's. It would be interesting to see if everyone has the same typo or if it was caught and corrected. if so, my copy may be more valuable than yours!
...Or, are there are different dates for foreign printings?

Where that leaves us I don't know. Perhaps a letter to the editor might give the answer. You never know your letter might get published and you get a bottle of SM for your trouble.

Okey Dokey:

I have written a short missive to Rob to find out why the variation in covers globally. I've also posed the query whether there is variance in the content of the magazine as well. I know that we don't receive those minis, back massages or visits to read the magazine outloud that the UK subscribers seem to vow they receive.

I'll let you know what the response is.
