As some of you might already know: 4-6 September 2009 we will be hosting the very first whiskyclub gathering: Maltstock
I'm posting this here because I suspect a lot of the forum members are also members of a whiskyclub.
The idea behind Maltstock is to bring together as many whiskyclubs as we possibly can. We met many clubs over the last years at festivals and tastings. But there's never a lot of time. You're always on the way to your next dram. We believe it will be great to actually spent a some time sharing and enjoying a few drams. So far we've found 345 clubs from 29 different countries and invited them all.
Is you're club not in the list, please let us know.
Although the most important people present at Maltstock will be the clubs, we also have found some very interesting distilleries and bottlers willing to come over. The likes of Jim McEwan, Glenglassaugh, BenRiach and Glendronach. Also through the importers bottlers like Single Malts of Scotland, Daily Dram, Dewar Ratrray, Adelphi, Berry Bros, Douglas Laing will be represented.
No one has to go home at the end of the day. At the location there are several dorms with bunk beds. So simple accommodation. For those who prefer more luxury there are hotels nearby (not included). Accommodation, breakfast and diner are included. As well as a small stand for every club.
I know most clubs out there aren't to big. But all are more than welcome! I think it will be great to meet a lot of other clubs.
