The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is coming up from Sept. 15th through the 20th, 2009 in Bardstown Kentucky. It is a great chance to sample and try tons of bourbon whiskey and meet other bourbon collectors and enthusiasts, as well as many of Kentucky's bourbon master distillers. There is also a long list of bourbon themed events as well as family friendly activities.
Liquor World of Bardstown, (502) 349-7560, has a ton of tastings and bottle signings scheduled for that week as well as the releases of some of their new and exclusive products.
Wednesday, Sept. 16th Craig Beam (Heaven Hill Master Distiller) will be signing from 3:00 to 5:P.M.
Thursday Sept. 17th Levick Distillery will be having a tasting from 2 to 3P.M.
Thursday Sept. 17th Jim Rutledge (Four Roses Master Distiller) will be signing from 3:30 to 5 P.M.
Thursday Sept. 17th Greg Davis (Barton Master Distiller) will be signing from 4 to 5 P.M.
Thursday Sept 17th Julian Van Winkle (Van Winkle owner) will be signing from 5 to 6P.M.
Thursday Sept 17th Parker Beam (former Heaven Hill master distiller) will be signing from 6 to 7 P.M. (also that is his b-day)
Friday, Sept. 18th Chris Morris (Woodford Reserve Master Distiller) will be signing from 3:30 to 5:30 P.M.
Friday, Sept 18th Don Outterson (Woodstone Creek owner) will be signing from 5 to 6:30 P.M.
Sunday, Sept 20th Drew Kulsveen (KY Bourbon Distillers) will be signing from 1 to 2 P.M.
Sunday, Sept 20th Whiskey River and Rogue Dead Gur Whiskey will be having a joint tasting from 2 to 3 P.M.
The store will also be releasing their exclusive Willett Uncut and Unfiltered Bourbon that week, as well as their Willett Reserve. They also will release their Four Roses Uncut exclusive bottling. And they will also launch the Woodstone Creek Barrel #1, which is an exclusive to their store and was previously only sold at the distillery. The store stocks over 175 KY Bourbons and whiskies as well as collector bottles. I would really suggest any whisky enthusiast make the trip to the festival at least once. It is a great experience.
