Postby mikeymad » Wed Aug 25, 2010 9:04 pm

Can never be too early to start planning.... From the past shows this should be another killer gathering of beverage:

October 8, 2010 (Friday)
6:30 - 9:30 pm
San Francisco Marriott
Regular admission: $110 | VIP admission: $150

The pour list is not final but it is looking pretty good so far.

As always - hope to meet up with people there.. or over the weekend.

Cheers,

I've got my VIP ticket as well. Any thoughts for a pre-WF dram at the Marriott?

Lawrence,

If meeting up at the room is ok, we'll have a variety of whiskies to choose from, and if you haven't tasted the Cask 94 or MMcD Bourbon, we can open those.

I'll message you with the plan.

Cheers...

I have my VIP ticket and am really looking forward to attending. My wife and I will be flying in Wednesday and heading to Napa, then back Friday afternoon for the Fest.

By the way, I have an extra VIP ticket if anyone needs one (friend had to back out at last minute). We will be staying at the host hotel, Marriott.

Great to hear Bob,

VIP is the way to go. I wish I would have known about the extra ticket. I had a friend who missed out on the VIP and ended up just buying a regular ticket.

Would like to hook up either at the show or other. Maybe have some non-show samples.. :-)

PM me and Tim....

Mikey

The Amrut tasting looks like a no-brainer to me, especially at that price (around a third of what I payed for a similar thing in DK)

Fusion and Intermediate Sherry Matured are 2 favourite of mine, my mouth starts watering just thinking of it :D

Agreed Steffen,

They will be poured at the show as well..

The Whisky week is going crazy....

http://www.maltadvocate.com/whiskyfest_san_francisco_whiskyweek.asp

Getting too many events for me to keep track of....

I am locked in to the Ardbeg Gathering on Thursday.... But for $25 it may be worth it to get the Amrut tasting out of the way on Wednesday (or even on Saturday).

Mikey

Cheers Adam - great to hang out with you and Chris for a while. Big thanks to Tim for sharing the Big room with us all. I need to kick some money back to you...

Lost & Found - Tim had an Ardbeg Murray McDavid go missing if anyone seen it walk off...

ganga - It was a really good show. I have lost my show booklet with my notes. So I cannot recall all my ratings... But there were a few highlights in the VIP bottles. And got to try the very special Glenrothes "John Ramsey' several times. http://www.bbr.com/product-73405B-the-glenrothes-john-ramsay-legacy-speyside

I really did like the Bowmore 18yo from AD Rattray, and the Benriach Madeira. Laphroaig 25yo and Ardmore 30yo were high on the list as well. I thought that the Black Bull 12yo was just tasty.

But overall it was a great evening. I enjoyed talking with Lincoln Henderson with his new Angel's Envy. Along with the Benriach, Springbank, Duncan Taylor Reps.

Cheers,
Mikey
