World whisky tasting 27.6.12 Edinburgh

Being a sucker for obscure whiskies I seem to have a fair stock pile. The idea was to have something curious tacked on to a regular POURS tasting as a bonus dram for discussion. However my collection grew quicker than the drinking opportunites presented themselves hence a blow out of world whiskies. 21 in total - pours will be 10ml and any popular ones can be re-sampled. A complete list will soon be posted - the computer and printer at work have imploded so the freedom of information is somewhat compromised. £18/15* a ticket. Wednesday 27th Kilderkin, Royal Mile, Edinburgh 7.30pm

From memory there will be :-

USA: Montana Roughstock, Baby Blue corn from Waco, Texas and McCarthy's from Portland Oregon

New Zealand : Lammerlaw from Wilson's distillery by Cadenheads 10yo (it's actually much older but we can only record time spent maturing in Kiwiland.

India : Amrut Herald and McDowell's single malt

Corsica : P&M pure malt

Belgium : Belgian Owl

Switzerland : Swissky, Interlaken white oak sherry butt and Highland malts

Austria : J.H. Pure Malt Rye, Special Malt Rye Nougat, oat whisky Diukel whisky and Malz Diukel whisky plus another

Finland : Teerenplie

Laos : 'wisky'

Czech Republic : Gold Cock 43% malt whisky

USA : Buffalo Trace White Dog 62.5%
