5 drams from Japan's biggest producer of whisky
Hibiki 12yo 43% - a great example of the blenders art, partially matured in plum liqueur casks for a unique twist
Hibiki 17yo 43% = an earlier addition of the Hibiki (:Harmony') series. I don't usually repeat drams in these tasting but when the quality is as captivating as this I am more than happy to revisit a whisky.
Yamazaki 12yo 43% : the company's signature malt? Classic Japanese precision from the original distillery.
Yamazaki 18yo 43% : a wonderfully complex, full and graceful dram, a treat and great example of just how serious Japan should be taken.
Hakushu 12yo 43.5% - from the company's other malt distillery, less prolific than it's sister which is somewhat ironic as it was once the worlds biggest malt distillery.
We will be learning from Tatsuya Mingawa, of Craigellachie Hotel and Highlander Inn fame.
There will be £5 redeemable against any one of the bottles we try when purchased at Cadenheads whisky shop. Tatsuya will hopefully be bringing some interesting cask samples too.
