8/14 barge tasting & Edinburgh Walking tour

Postby jmrl » Sun Jun 01, 2014 11:14 pm

Unless the booking is rejected, this year's barge tasting will take place on board the Saint Magdalene at the Linlithgow Union Canal Society on Thursday 7th August at 7.30pm about £35 a ticket - price to be finalised when all bottles are secured. a two and an half hour cruise up to one of the biggest aquaducts in the country while we taste 5 canal side drams from closed distilleries - St. Magdalene, Rosebank, Littlemill, Port Dundas and Glen Mhor.

For the initial walking tour of Edinburgh it will either be Thursday 21st August at 6.30pm or Sunday 24th August at about 3pm. Tickets should be about £20 - we'll try Caledonian - if I can find one! A Glenkinchie, North British 24yo 46% Bourbon barrel Cadenheads, a Queen Anne blend from the 1970s and a EH10 blend form the 2000s.

Also POURS tastings should start again from Thursday 28th August until the end of the year. As usual 7.30pm start and repeated fortnightly, unless any of these dates are problematic with the venue - confirmation will be forthcoming.

Sunday the 24th for the walking tour - meet at 3pm outside Thomson's bar on Morrison street - the Caledonian is from the SMWS 30yo refill Bourbon barrel and the Glenkinchie is 24yo 49.2% Bourbon hogshead from Cadenheads.
