From time to time a pub will look beyond the regular malts for their whisky selection - in the capital there is for example Thomson's, Dagda, Kilderkin, The Abbotsford, Dream Drams and the Bow Bar - at Cadenheads we also supply The Ardsheil in Campbeltown, and The Pot Still in Glasgow. We should really try harder to get our bottlings in more bars but it seems 'spare' time is becoming harder to find as the years go by...
So when The Corbie Inn in Bo'ness on the Firth of Forth showed an interest in our and Springbank's wares we were delighted- the new(-ish) owners had been let down by another indie when the bar was relaunched so we were happy to start a working relationship.
In support of their confidence I'll be hosting a tasting on Thursday the 19th of June at 8pm. Tickets MUST be purchased from the inn directly - 01506 825307. The Inn has been awarded two certificates of excellence from Trip Advisor as well as other awards noting the quality of fare and service. Real ales, evening meals and even its own brewery raises the bar (no pun intended) for a community pub at a time where drinkers are more discerning where they spend their hard earned - pubs are still closing at an alarming rate as the cost of a night out becomes more challenging but often feels like a deserved small luxury when new houses/cars/holidays - big treats, become less accessible for the majority.
