Quite by accident, I will be arriving in Craigellachie on the 27th, the day after the festival ends. If there are any, uh, hangovers, perhaps we can meet in the Highlander or the Quaich Bar. (Please leave me a little something to drink....)

Me and the Mrs will be attending (hopefully not a repeat of the last dregs...)

Eh, no, we'll try to avoid that.

Mind you, right now, if someone's pissed it's 'im... I've been reading over his shoulder correcting his grammar and spelling for the last fifteen minutes (finally managed to get him off the computer).

Me: "Did you intend to put ALL those letters after smash?"

'im: "No."

(I think there was an a and an m in there somewhere)

So you'll be hoping that I'll be feeling strong at the dregs party then?

You didn't pace yourself well, over the weekend, last September.

Let's hope Grampa Broon isn't sitting behind me in a tasting session. :x

A more or less complete program is up on the Dufftown pages.

A couple of odd Talk & tastes this time:
* Whisky and Chees with Mike Lord
* Whisky and Chocolates with Sweden's Paul Martensson

No problem, Susan, Stuart and I are booked in for it. 8)

We'll skip Per's last dram. I've been on it six times and the last one didn't tell me anything new.

You can be assured that Stuart and I will not waste any. If we do, then get your bosses to pull that whisky off the shelves immediately!

See you on Saturday.

Stuart and I will be on Mike's one.

Will miss Malmo Man's talk ( I assume that's him) as I'm on the seven stills tour.

Unfortunately, your boss decided otherwise.

The shop was out of Braeval :x so I grabbed Provenance Ardmore.

When my liver has recovered  , I shall get on with the task of drinking it.

Arve, which of your fellow countrymen said that there was a picture, on the website, of me conked out on the bed?

That would have been quite a feat on my part as I was in Falkirk when the picture was taken and that guy doesn't look like me. He certainly doesn't look capable of giving people a 'lift' home.

I haven't got a clue who it was, maybe Geir...

Finally got home at around 9pm last night with bags loaded.

Amongst the bottles brought home was one of David Stirk's Imperal 1994, Signatory Clyenlish 1974, a few bottles from a shop best not mentioned, a Brora Rare Malts for a friend who want's it as a birthday prezzie and half a case of Irn-Bru.

Yes, it probably was him. I don't think he was too amused by me christening him 'Plastered Man'. :D

Irn Bru rules! 8)

Grabbed Ardmore and Carme plus An Cnoc from another shop, best not mentioned, a load of gift packs from G&M and some Tomintoul 10 for my mum.

What were your favourites from the weekend, both if money were no object and if it was?

Money no object: Glenfarclas 1969 Sherry Cask (for Germany) tied with Douglas Laing Platinum Glenrothes.

Money an objecy: Carme and Provenance Braeval

Didn't taste the Glenfarclas.

I would have had Douglas Laing's Glenrothes from Susan's session equal with Ricky's gorgeous 1977 Old Pulteney from the Scott's selection range. Just a dribble of water and it opens up to a cascade of wonderous sweetness. 8)

Since money is an object, I'd pick the Carme and the Braeval as well.

The Glenfarclas surfaced on the Glenfarclas Master Class at the distillery, together with the 105, 1994, 1974 and another 1969.

The 105 is also a wonderful dram, can't wait to go flying abroad through Oslo Airport, where it goes for around £22 for a litre.

Let's see if that class comes up again at another festival.

Were you at Allt-a-bhainne as well?

Yes, it was on the same Minibus Tour.

We were shown around the place (took about five minutes) by Dennis Hendry from Aberlour. Followed by a good measure dram and the news that they might release a distillery bottling next year (probably in the heritage range). A cute little distillery in a very un-distillerylike building.

And when the drams were finished, Hideo took out a bottle of Nikka Cask Strength...

Are you going to do a report, like you did last year?

I'm going to have a go at writing one.
