She'll be able to tell you how to do a proper festival anyway being an Islay Lass.....

I know Mark. I've never met Georgie.

Are you coming to the festival?

Mike Lord is the guy who bought it. He's been going to the festival for years and he's been at every one I've been at.

I'm not coming this spring either - we're going over to an Island later this summer, so we need to save up a bit of cash...

We'll see about autumn again, maybe the pull of Speyside will appear - just like it did last year.

On another front:
Two papers in Norway have revently published an article written by a couple of journalist who visited the Autumn Festival in 2004 (I know, we're a bit slow over here - just read Clarkson). This article, though in Norwegian, has a couple of pictures of Susan and Fiona, and can be seen through this forum-thread (just press the link embedded in the text).

Sorry to hear you won't be coming. :(

I've never felt fitter and would have been up to the challenge of giving people lifts home. 8)

Try also to get to talk with someone from Dufftown 2000.

The spring festival is a collaboration between Spirit of Speyside and Dufftown 2000 , while the autumn festival is a pure Dufftown 2000-affair.

A good person to talk to is the previous owner of The Whisky Shop in Dufftown, Fiona Murdoch - or René Ramon if she's unable.

Two reports available. Let me know what you think of the literary styles of both writers.

Thanks a lot for posting your notes. I really appreciate the notes on the IB bottlings. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Thank you both, Gentlemen.

See you next may or next September.

The IB's are my favourite events as I have been to many festivals but Mike Lord's 'Whisky and Food' series is brilliant as well.

I like food, food is good. 8)

Congratulations Bruce,
I see your Speyside Report has been posted on the Malt Madness website, see "Highlights...Malt Maniac, 01/06 Spirit of Speyside Festival." I haven't been to Scotland for many years, but after reading your Reports(2005, 2006), plus other authors from this forum, I certainly have had strong thoughts of attending the Speyside Festival. It would also give me the pleasure to reunite with old friends who live in the area. I think it would be great fun.
Cheers,
Wendy
