Whisky/Food tasting Sacramento, CA

Hi everybody

We have just moved over to CA from Scotland and I am considering hosting a Whisky and food tasting in the Sacramento area. When we lived in Speyside, I had a whisky shop and have therefore done many, many tastings.......... also brought over an amazing collection of Whisky with me!

We moved over here because we have an import/distribution company specialising in Scottish food and drink but I am really missing the Whisky side of the business!!! I am a Whisky ambassador, so it would be a good night you can be assured.

What I would like to know is does anyone know anywhere in the Sacramento area that already does regular tasting sessions? Or would anyone be interested in attending an event??? I am in talks with a couple of the distillers back home to represent them out here, but at the moment I'm still independent.

Welcome to the forum, and to the States. Sounds like you have a lot to offer.

I live north of San Francisco, about an hour and a half from Sacramento, and would be very interested in tasting sessions. I have about a 240 single malt bottle collection right now, not including cognacs and others.

I use to travel up to Sacramento often, and there were a couple of pretty good beverage shops around, but nothing outstanding. I don't remember anyone ever doing a Scotch tasting around there. There are several big shows in the 'bay area' (Whisky's of the World, and WhiskyFest (coming soon)).

Let me know your thoughts. I am also interested in sample trading, and have been doing it for a little while.

Welcome to the forum, the States and specifically to California. Unfortunately I'm located at the southern end of the state where we have fine whisky shops but it seems like few events.

Keep the forum apprised of upcoming events and in the fortunate event that I get shipped to Sacramento, I'll try to get to one.

Welcome finestscotland! I use to live just an hour south of San Francisco, so when I'm back to visit, I'll head up to Sacramento too to visit a friend, and be on the lookout for you and your goods and tastings! Good luck, keep us posted!
