I will not be going, but only because I won't be in the NYC area this weekend.

But please let me know how it is if you attend. I'm going to the Event in Boston MA Oct 16th, so I'm curious what to expect.

I've never been to a tasting this large, so I can't wait until the Oct 16th Event to be held in Boston, Mass. I'll be there

Report on last nights event...friend & I got there early to register & got in to the room about 6:45. First the one negative- there were NO SHOPPING BAGS to carry all the handouts, cigars, magazines, freebies, glasses etc. Alot of people grumbled about that. Previous experience paid off, I brought my Whisky Fest '07 canvass tote bag 'just in case", THANK GOD I DID!!! It was packed plus my jacket pockets too. All the food was excellent and no shortages on anything. On to the WHISKIES... everyone poured FREELY, no skimping, NO VOUCHERS, as much whisky & coversation as you like. Spoke with Jimmy Robertson-Bowmore about the 17 &18. Unfortunately, the 17 will only be available through the duty free airport stores. Simon Brooking- Laphroaig & Ardmore (very nice stuff), informed me that Lap 18 will be comming out late this year & Lap 25 next year. My friend had such a great 1st time he signed up, got the $25 discount & purchased the Society Bottling #29.64 18 yo Laphroaig as his 1st bottle! I purchased one myself- outstanding whisky. All in all, do not miss the show if you can attend one at any of the locations. Jeff

My friend had such a great 1st time he signed up, got the $25 discount & purchased the Society Bottling #29.64 18 yo Laphroaig as his 1st bottle! I purchased one myself- outstanding whisky. Jeff

Yes indeed, #29.64 is a great bottling. Pretty interesting stuff, and the 1st Laphroaig I've had from a Sherry Butt. I'm really enjoying my bottle.

Do you remember what Society bottles they had open for taste? And did they have a lot of their bottles on hand for sale, or were the they same as what they had open?
