You are cordially invited to join us for a single malt scotch v. bourbon tasting with over 100 whisk(e)ys.

This event will take place at:
The Costa Mesa Holiday Inn
3131 South Bristol
Costa Mesa, CA 92627
Saturday, October 25th 4PM to 8PM

There will be over 100 different whisk(e)ys to try along with snacks provided by the Holiday Inn and special discount pricing on the whisk(e)ys.

The Cost is $50.00 per person

Come taste a flight of Bruichladdich, the Sophicated Islay Malt at Ivan Kane's new restaurant Cafe Was. Enjoy the lovely mezzanine bar with fromage and charcuterie plates before Andrew Gray of Bruichladdich takes you through eight of scotland's most exciting and highly rated malts. We will serve the Bruichladdich Islay 12 year old Bourbon cask, Bruichladdich Islay 15 year old finished in Chateau d'Yquem casks, Bruichladdich Islay 8 year old "Rocks" finished in E. Guigal casks, Bruichladdich Islay 14 year old Links Series "Carnoustie" finished in Chateau Haut Brion casks, Bruichladdich Islay 14 year old Links Series "K Club" finished in Guigal Hermitage/Cote Rotie casks, Bruichladdich Islay 15 year old Links Series "Torrey Pines" finished in Chateau Latour casks, Bruichladdich Islay 3D Peat Proposal "Norrie Campbell" and the Bruichladdich Islay Infinity 2nd Edition aged in Sherry & Bourbon casks finished in Rioja barrels. Special pricing on the malts will be available for those in attendance. Valet Parking is available at the event. Free parking available at K&L, only one block from the restaurant.

Reception begins at 6:30 and we will promptly sit at 7pm to begin the tasting.

Ah, K&L. We know the northern branch people. Would love to attend this but Tuesdays are always bad for me. :cry:

BTW, I have made my reservations for the HT tasting.

Anybody else from LA going down to the OC? Any OC people?

I have to give the folks at Hi Time :thumbsup:

for the wonderful show they put together. Lots of surprising whiskies were sported for our perusal and we were well taken care of.

While some of the tables only had the standard fair available, other tables were very intriguing. Signet at the Glenmorangie table. Signature at the Balvenie table. A Tamdhu and Caol Ila from Duncan Taylor.

The really nice thing about starting early is even after waiting a few hours afterwards it still wasn't very late to set off for home. I also think the early start time helped as most had eaten a few hours ahead so palates were fairly clean at the start as well.

it was nice seeing you again rich.....some decent pours, the hotties at the lismore and bulleit tables.....the guy pouring the pc7 who did not seem to know much about much, good though because he was pouring three or more fingers at a time!!

big ups to hi times, trayce and forrest...a very nice selection of bourbon and rye as well as the single malts....
