An incredible collection. Thanks for the effort involved in posting all that for us. Have you seen 'The Art of Whisky' by Jim Murray?

Wonderful. Love the guy waving tw0 fingers!!

Many gems here. Love the Bushmills ad decrying that awful scotch that tastes of peat-smoke!

Wish I could show you this old Glenlivet ad. my father in law has in a book.

B/W photo of two gnarly dour old scotsmen sitting with a dram each of Glenlivet. The caption says:

"The English tell us we have to serve our beloved Glenlivet in 25cl portions. You know what we think of the English."

Jimrl, no I have not seen the Art of Whisky Book. I will have to look for it.

Reggae, glad you enjoy the posts. And the ad yo have sounds like a hoot!

I really get a kick out of the ads.

Its amazing how many of these whiskys and bourbons are no longer available, while others are still kicking around. Like "Old Crow" that stuff is still sold.

There is a topper in the book where a couple of gents are stropped in their tracks when a young lad walks in front of them pulling another behind him in an old whisky crate. Harmless were in not for the fact the 8yo boy is smoking!

Scotchdrinker, on the photo sharing website, Flickr, there was a member who had this collection and others. The amount of time it took him to collect and then scan all the ads was have been considerable.

I can Imagine how long it took for them to scan and upload all those photos. I can imagine how long it took you to post them all here. But, nonetheless they are great.

Just brilliant. This is the sort of thing I joined this forum for. Loved. Please keep them coming.

I was going to suggest that someone should bring them together and produce a book, then I saw that someone referred to a Jim Murray book.
I haven't seen it yet but I will definitely look out for it.

I'm looking out for some old Irish ones if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Interesting Slogan from the 1980's in the UK for those who remember Goldfinger!

The oldest I've come across so far for Jameson - I think this counts as advertising. From 1864. (145 years ago! Wonder what it tasted like!). Not sure if it refers to John Jameson or William Jameson.
