Were Diageo not really miserable with the mini amounts of whisky at their tastings in Holyrood Park

Considering it was £5 entry for 3 (admittedly small, say 10/15ml) drams which included your own Talisker/Homecoming commerative Glencairn glass, I'd say it was far from miserable, value-wise at least.

Furthermore, for your £5 entry you could have signed up (if you were early) for a free Masterclass - the final one of which, all Rare/Special Releases, encompassed the following gems:

Rosebank 20yo 62.3%
Oban 32yo 55.1%
Cragganmore 29yo 52.5%
Glen Ord 30 yo 58.7%
Caol Ila 25yo 58.4%
Brora 30yo 55.7%

Given that a Glencairn glass alone would set you back around £5 I think that anything that offers this plus more for £5 is not bad....

Yeah I went to the 4pm tasting that had those whiskies. That only is was worth the entrance fee to the park and the £5 into the tent and still value for money! Never mind the glass along with it!
