Laphoaig CS, which I haven't seen anywhere yet.

Cost of flights Australia to Japan return, AUD$400
Money I saved on buying Japanese whisky in Japan rather than Australia around AUD$300(purchases last time I was there).

For me that's virtually a free holiday.

Whiskies that you would buy if you happened to come into unexpected funds: Gordon & McPhail Strathisla 40 Years - the only 40y/o I'll ever be able to afford, I might actually buy this instead of the 25y/o as I could ask Mrs. Chef for the 25y/o as combined b-day gift/Christmas present.

I never had any Balvenie up till now but after reading tasting notes on the web I think this one I will like.

And of course I will have to try as many as Dalmore as I can ; so far I had 3 ( new 12, 12 Black Isle and 12 Black Pearl )

I tried the Bowmore 12 once and at that time it didn't make a big impression on me . But it's been a long time since and I now know more about drinking whisky ( from the right glass ! ) so I'll will be much more able to compare it to other whiskies.

I loved the Arran 12 and I want to compare the Madeira Cask Finish with the Black Pearl

Buying malts is surely addictive and fun

Hey 'sabb, just my opinion but don't buy the IB OMC Springbank 10 you see at Dan Murpheys. You need to go to your local Vintage Cellars and get the Hart Brothers Springbank 11 Portwood finished, stellar whisky and cheaper as well.
