What did you drink for Turkey Day?

Postby Chef! » Thu Nov 26, 2009 6:25 pm

My first in eight years... This coming Christmas will be my first in five years as the last restaurant I worked last was run by Ebenezer Scrooge himself. I feel like I should be hammering-out last minute details for a 300 people meal.

Going to Mom's House for an unbelievable white tablecloth feast as she's a wonderful cook. Gotta flask of whatever is left of my High West 16yo and Wild Turkey Rare Breed as back-up.

Happy Thanksgiving for those in the States.

Nothing with my turkey dinner today but last Sunday we celebrated it with my family and I had a glass of Chateau St. Michelle Rieseling, and it was rather nice. My dad chose the wine but it went rather well.

Tonight I am having loads of Bourbon.

The family came to our place.

Started HP 18 before dinner.

Then as the meal began opened Rombauer 2007 Chardonnay, and after desert we went on to Aberlour A'bunadh #26.

Quite a nice meal, with Bruch, Bach, and Tchaikovsky in the background.

Lovely day -- I even enjoyed my in-laws!
