Probably need a little more information on these. Are these the ones in the orange boxes? How old are they? MMcD has done a few Laphroaigs. I'm thinking the Laphroaig might be the 10 yo immediately proceeding the Leapfrog (long story).

no problem. both come in orange boxes. the Glenlossie was distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2004. the Laphroig was distilled in march 1988 and bottled in may 2003. both were aged in bourbon casks.

reference number on the Laphroig is MM3869 and reference number on the Glenlossie is MM0413.

thanks!

I found a review of the Glenlossie on whiskyfun.com. Serge gave it 85 points. I will keep looking for other reviews and/or prices for them.

I found two shops in Germany that have the Glenlossie on their list. It's exactly the same kind of Glenlossie with the same cask reference. One asks 29 Euro and the other 32 Euro. I can only find an estimate of the Laphroaig price but the cask ref. is not the same. Hope this helps. Here are the links:

I found a bottle of the Glenlossie open in my cupboard. :)

I bought a bottle of it when it was first released, because I like Glenlossie. This one didn't disappoint so I bought another which I opened in the summer for a tasting I held here. Everyone liked it that night so it's not just me. It's a very pleasant easy drinker that isn't going to blow your mind but really speaks to me of Glenlossie. If I was forced to put a score on it I wouldn't disagree with Serge.

I have a vague recollection that the Laphroaig was nice enough too but it's been a long time.

Also, for what its worth I looked back in old whisky bibles and JM gave the Glenlossie 86, so for once we are pretty consistent. I didn't find anything on the Laphroaig though.

Sadly, I haven't tried either of these. :( I did try the Laphroaig 10 and the Leapfrog which were decent presentations of the distillery.

Hi Kristyn.
Murray McDavid does not update its website and for the Laphroaig 1988, it sold out a long time ago.

I have a Laphroaig 14yo 1988 Murray McDavid in my collection, also the same in a Signatory UCF bottling. I seem to remember liking the MM a little better, though both are quite good.

Cheers!
