Peated BenRiach 10y, Curiositas, very impressed. Manageable complexity, sweetness but not cloying with a heavy hit of peat, peper and oak balancing it out. I like it.

A new Glenfarclas 12. There's a slightly sour note on the nose and it seems to have more grape and less smoke on the palate. Not as good as the outgoing bottle I think.

Many of the F&F bottles are selling for prices that are now comparable with the RRPs of standard drams. I recently saw Caol Ila 12yo with a £4 discount (supposedly) for the same price that I paid for the Glen Spey. On those grounds it would qualify as entry level. Whisky prices have gone mad.

I'm very fond of a 50/50 mix of OP12 and Caol Ila CS. The salt and maritime notes of the OP and the industrial coal smoke of the Caol Ila work wonders together.
