Auch! That both sucks and blows

Caol Ila 12yo. Will, as always, be replaced.

It's fortunately still available at TWE. I can feel a purchase coming on.

Is that the 8yo, Les? I've been looking at that. I'd have to get it from Germany but over there it's priced the same as the regular 12yo here. I'm still hesitant as it is so much younger than the 12 and would not be a very good copmarison.

Yes it is. they release an amount each year. It's delicious very different to the 12 and worth getting on it's own merit. Don't forget it's at cask strength. The bottle I broke was from the first batch. :(

Anyway it's this one. All the other releases are still available and now it's released as a Ten.

That's the same as the one I've been looking at. Saw the 10yo too, but that's another 11 EUR. When you say it's worth getting on it's own merit I believe I'll get one when putting in my next order.

So many over the last 3 months. Last was a Springbank 10 but other bottles of note are...

Coal Ila 12
Signatory Mortlach 16
Compass Box Oak Cross
HP 18
Talisker 10
Abunadh batch 23

thre were others but these were the better ones.

Bunnahabhain 18. Pretty good, but awful expensive and seemed to lack the character of the 12y. Probably won't buy another.

A sample of Highland Park 18. Quite good, but I think its actually my least favorite of the 12/15/18 trio. Call me crazy. I certainly won't be paying through the nose for a full bottle any time soon.

My bottle gave me a lot of pleasure as well. Still missed and now sadly unavailable in Australia.

Bakery Hill Peated Malt. Might have to go pick up another Bakery Hill bottling when the finances permit.

Redbreast 12. Probably my favorite of the several Irish whiskeys I've tried, but I think the style in general doesn't do a whole lot for me. I'll almost certainly buy another bottle before too long if for no other reason than to keep an Irish in stock.

Lockejn, have you tried Connemara?

I finished off my Glenlivet Nadurra last night.

Unfortunately it's not readily available here and I'm not sure it's a high enough priority to bump any of my other online purchases for a while.

Laphroaig Quarter Cask. A bit woody for my taste, but not bad. I might buy another bottle someday when I'm looking to shake things up.

Why does it seem like someone should have posted an April Fool's joke here? Like "Ardbeg '65", or "Springbank Local Barley".
