Scottish whisky trip finalised

I've just finished putting the finishing touches to my forthcoming short whisky holiday in Scotland.

The distilleries I shall be visiting are:-

Saturday.Edradour(absolutely love the 10yo!!)

Sunday.Strathisla and maybe Glenfiddich if time

Monday am.Aberlour (2 hour tour)

Monday pm.Balvennie (3 hour tour)

Tuesday am.Speyside Cooperage

As I am need to back in Edinburgh by Wednesday lunchtime, that just leaves Tuesday afternoon free at present. Any suggestions which distillery I should visit to fill this gap?

Glenturret perhaps, as it's not terribly far from Edinburgh.
Glengoyne, a little further to the west, would be another option.

I've been to quite a few distillery tours around Scotland (34 distilleries so far!)

Saturday: Since you'll be in Pitlochry for the Edradour distillery also check out Blair Athol distillery on the other side of town, a decent enough tour of this ivy covered distillery. Another option is the Aberfeldy (Home of Dewers) distillery in Aberfeldy or Tullibardine distillery in Blackford.

Sunday Don't know what distilleries happen to be open on Sunday.

Monday/Tuesday: Aberlour. Great tour, I've been on this one twice! I liked it even more than The Balvenie tour which itself is a fine tour. Since Glenfiddich is right next to The Balvenie you can do both in the same day. Other favorites in the area are Benromach distillery in Forres, Glen Grant distillery and gardens in Rothes and Glen Moray distillery and the Fifth Chapter tour in Elgin.

Don't bother with Glenturret aka Famous Grouse. Probably the worst tour I've ever been on even beyond Tobermory! And you don't get to taste Glenturret afterwards, just Grouse

Why, the Edinburgh malt of course, Glenkinchie

As you be in Craigellachie for the Cooperage the following nearby distilleries takes visitors as far as I remember

Cragganmore, Cardhu, Macallan, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet, Glen Grant, Benromach, Glendronach

Glenglassaugh do have a tour at 10am which need to be prebooked

There's nice whiskyshops in Tomintoul, Elgin, Dufftown and Huntly
