Loch Dhu

I tried Loch Dhu many years ago when i probably shouldn't have been drinking whisky and i loved it then. i remember it being like licorice.
To my dismay when looking for a bottle recently i discovered it was generally hated and discontinued and now costs a fair wod of cash for bottle.
its hated but because its rare it cost a silly amount for what it is. am i the only person who thinks thats daft? if people don't like it give it away. i'll drink it. I'd love to try it again now i have a better taste for whisky but there's no chance

No you're not the only one, but thats life. Take a look at high culture, it's as ugly as hell, and it costs a fortune. Me, i can't afford bad taste.

If you like liquorice, then you can like Loch Dhu very much, but the Cu Dhub is rather different and I really don't like it: tasted like cheap artifical perfume

well i went for a bottle of Cu Dhub and its just arrived this morning. i can't try it yet as its a bit early and i have to get back to work but it smells lovely. deep licorice smell. will have to see how this one drinks tonight

well i've tried the Cu Dhub and i like it. it's not as black or thick as i remember loch dhu and doesn't have the same licorice taste.
there is definately licorice in there but a stronger coffee flavour takes over.
it almost an after dinner drink. i think it would be great with a lot of ice to.
