Xmas Requests and Gifts

I was wondering if anyone is asking there significant other (maybe others as well) for something special for Christmas.

And I guess we could post an elixers recieved right here too.

My other half usually gets me the annual release Port Ellen (though I keep telling her not to as the price rises, and she may not have managed this year due to short supply).
Normally the Bible too.

I assume it’s the ‘Whisky Bible’ or do you have an extensive collection of religious reading material and if so does it extend to other faith groups?

I do drop hints but Mrs Barleycorn never seems to take any notice of them. Last year I kept harping on about the Bugatti Veyron, but alas it was socks again.

I wish my wife would buy me some whisky but ever since she went she did a bang up job one year (and then noticed how many bottles I actually own) she hasn't bought me a bottle since. I still remember that year. A Pappy Van Winkle 20yo, a Caol Ila 25yo and a Talisker DE. Too bad I think this year will be another dry year under the Christmas tree.

Mrs B was very generous with her whisky related gifts, a nosing aroma kit and bottle of Singleton of Dufftown. Also received Ian Buxton's Book from one of the wee Barleycorn's

Got a Macallan 12 (sherry) that came packaged with a Macallan 18 miniature from Costco. Told my fiancee that I wanted that for Christmas since it wasn't too expensive.

No whisky, but a $30 gift card to the liquor store, a leather cased flask set, and a nicely framed tile.

The tile has a print of an old Irish whiskey label on it. Says, "Gibson Brothers Importers - Saint Nora - Irish Whiskey - Since 1788 - Single Malt - No. 13446 - A product of Ireland". Though Google doesn't turn up anything of the sort. I'm guessing it's just fabricated to look nice on someone's coffee table. It does look nice, indeed.

Mrs DT gave me three gift boxes each slightly bigger than the other
First had a voucher for return flights to Sydney
Second had a voucher for 2 nights at the Parkroyal Sydney in a Harbour view room
Third had a voucher for a Supercar drive day whilst in Sydney with 3 course lunch
