New Years Resolutions

Postby jazz lover » Fri Dec 17, 2010 11:28 pm

Well it's that time again.
Lose weight?
Stop smoking?
Spend less?
What will you do?

The only thing I'm firm on for 2011 is buying/tryng another 50 Japanese whisky's I haven't had before.

To start to explore scotch in more depth, while trying not to forget the rest of the worlds whiskey's in the process.

If memory serves me correctly JL weren't you guning for 1000 bottles at the mountain in 2010? Can I assume you made it?
Is there anything in particular you don't have that you'd like to pick up for 2011?

As i have been off dramming for a while, i intend not to rush into buying the usual fare (done plenty of that) but save up for a few quality bottles of what i really like, such as HP or Balblair.Fingers crossed it will not take too long. :)

I think I would have suggested that was more challenging than realistic.

That's a good one. I'd like to pay off my credit cards. I won't but I'd like to.

Aren't resolutions supposed to be kept secret, or is that just for those of us that still believe in Santa?

Try out more new single malts and especially Japanese single malts and try the occasional American Whisky/Bourbon ( I really want to try Elijah Craig ( 12 or 18 ) of which I had a nosing during a tasting :insane: )

I've been thinking about this and I want my resolution to be achievable so I've decided to go with:

Don't run out of whisky in 2011

Willie, too much.

I resolve to encourage Nick/C57 to open bottles. Not to the point of excess but merely to get him above 30. :P

Secondly, I resolve to encourage Sean/pkt to keep under 100 open bottles.

I suppose that since the universal experience is that resolutions are not kept, why don't we do this thing properly and make resolutions like gain a little weight, get a little more into debt, drink a bit more, do a fraction less exercise, etc., etc. Ok so we won't get thinner, healthier or wealthier, but the end result will be much the same as it was ever going to be and you can at least be happy and free from guilt, because you kept your resolutions.
