Tesco – Inverness, Elgin and Fort William

Postby John Barleycorn » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:15 pm

Good news for whisky aficionados. Tesco stores in Inverness, Elgin and Fort William have expanded their malt whisky range, not only in the mid-price range of the market with the addition of such brands as Tomatin, Tomintoul, Arran, Springbank, Bruichladdich to name but a few and which, I have to say, can be found on many a super market shelf, but also at the upper end with the likes of Jura 200, Fettercairn 24 and a range of Gordon and MacPhail expressions. Prices are slightly on the high side for a few of this additions; the Fettercairn 24 is £137.88 and a G&M Millburn 1978 at £102. This is for a trial period, but when I enquired, at the Inverness store, no one seemed to know for how long.

:D :D

The orice of the Fettercairn does seem a bit steep, but its good that they are stocking a wider range. It all becomes a lot more reasoonable looking when they do the 25% off all malts thing. :D
