Yestersay was croque monsieur followed by some Talisker 18, day before me and a friend grilled crayfish with garlic and herb butter for starters and then a venison roast with a balsamic sauce and potatoes au gratin. Also follwed by Tali 18.

Going to use the leftover chicken with sauteed onions, green peppers, and mushrooms on a french roll. Thinking of pairing a bourbon with it. Just not sure which one yet.

Porcupine meatballs with a couple of glasses of Castle Rock Pinot Noir Monterey 2008. Went ok together but I think the meal needed a bigger wine.

Pan fried entrecÃ´te (rib eye) marinaded in chili sauce, black pepper, balsamic vinegar, liquid smoke, oil, honey and a pinch of salt. Served with a garlic and herb (marjoram, parsley, thyme, rosemary and basil) butter plus pommes chateau and broccoli.

Had a Talisker 18 and wine with this.

Tonight for me, the wife and little man Fish tacos with some Caol Ila 12 unpeated 2010 (well for me not for the wife or littleman).

Thanks Sean! The liquid smoke and thick marinade created a decent substitute for the BBQ.
Yesterday I made a minced beef stew based on the above marinade, just added some chopped onions, golden chantarelles, garlic, game stock, cream and greeen pepper corns. To this I had a Glenfarclas 105 and a beer.

wife chose Pei Wei, so Thai Dynamite Chicken, first I had Robert Mondavi Cab Napa 2007 with it (like the wine not the pairing) and then some Caol Ila 12 unpeated 2010 (much better but a little overwhelmed by the spiciy food).

a costco take and bake 5 cheese pizza with some Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Napa, Caol Ila 12 unpeated 2010, and Laga 16. Either the wine or the Caol Ila were the best pairing.

The Talisker 18 was somewhat overwhelmed by the galic I'm afraid.

Pork pot roast with carrots, parsnip, celeriac, onion, garlic, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, pepper corns, and tomato pure. Boiled tatties and a sauce made from the stock in the pot.

The left overs are now in the fridge in a brine with liquid smoke, bay leaf and junipers.
