Spaghetti with meat sauce topped with parmesian and crushed red peppers. Balvenie DW with this. The red peppers bring a sourness and sweetness out from the Balvenie. Balvenie makes the red peppers go "woof".
Pizza also. Four cheese pizza washed down with some Secret Stills Bowmore. I did not assess whether they complimented each other. I just drank and ate.
I eat nothing at all... sometimes I'll enjoy a good Fuente maduro ( Opus X ), with some of my favorite drams of Glenlivet, Dalmore, Glenmorangie, and Balvenie. On few occasions I'll break out some of my favorite blends and have them neat, just like I have my malts, neat. NO MORE...NO LESS...
Grilled pork chops and Dalmore 12 (2009). Pork chops bring back some of the bourb character and mute some of the sherry character. Good but not great combo.
grilled onions and garlic with KSB 7 yo. Really provides a contrast as the onions/garlic drift towards sweet notes which brings the coarseness of this bourbon to the fore.
