Happy Birthday Bladnoch Cask 200

Postby Jobi » Mon Mar 28, 2011 5:20 pm

Congratulations to the WMF Bladnoch cask 200 for officially becoming a SMS today. What are the chances of getting/purchasing some samples?

Thanks for the reminder. I believe the intent was to bottle in 2017. Willie, how would we go about getting samples for the group?

I don't doubt it. Several of them own shares when we put this together here 3 years ago.

I think Mark C was also thinking about this. One or both if us will probably go down sometime in the not too distant future and see what can be done. Would folks be happy with a smallish 3cl sample or is a larger one required?

Hello all, it's been awhile! :D
I'm thinking of getting in touch with the new owners of Bladnoch to inquire about our cask, which turns 8 March 28th, 2016. I think it's still best to bottle sometime in 2017 when the distillery celebrates 200 years. Thoughts, opinions, input?
All the best whisky wishes to you all!

Good to "see" you again. I agree; bottle in 2017. Jobi and I split a share. Planning to travel there in 2017.

Hey Ganga!
Good to "see" you again too! And nice to see you as the top poster, congratulations!
I'm hunting for the original posting thread to get all our names, info, etc, but without any luck. Any chance you know it? I'm sharing my 1/10th share with Les Taylor. But I'd love to get the list with all of our names so when I do write to the distillery they'll have more info. Odd, but I read that Bladnoch didn't distill after 2006, which sort of scares me. Makes me wonder what the new owners say when I email them?
Thanks again Ganga, and looking forward to meeting you and the others in 2017!

So now that we are looking at a whisky at 8 yo and to be bottled in 2017, what's up with it?

I'm still wondering too Ganga??
The "Bladnoch Chat" group on Facebook hasn't updated yet.
Has anyone heard from the distillery about it yet?

From what I gather from another forum, our barrel is likely with Whiskybroker (run by Raymond's son?). Someone recently got a barrel bottled and said the process went smoothly. I also heard that the Bladnoch liquidators had reached out to people who have casks, but my address has changed and I never updated it with them. Have either of you been contacted? I mean to reach out to whiskybroker to at least update my contact details. As for getting the whisky back to the US I have no idea...

Hey Jobi,
Thanks for posting!
I believe you're right, Martin Armstrong is Raymond's son, ie "Whiskybroker" and you can find him on Facebook. Unless I missed it, Martin said he'd check up on our cask that he perhaps did have it, but I haven't heard anything about it yet. Also check and join the Bladnoch Chat group on Facebook.
