If that would work than I'm more than happy for it to happen as well :iwbrnt:

C57, welcome to the club of "People of lost posts"

It is now over a month ago that people were trying to "fix" my posts & account, and until now NOTHING has happened. They knew what was the problem and why everything got deleted, but apparently the administrators have not learned anything.

A tip for the administrators, if a user is suspected of spam, it should be possible to hide all the posts, and afterwards be able to assess the damage and then delete. By just immediate deletion it is just irreversible and you end up with more problems. And yes, do backup.

I was expecting to get some definitive news today, but no.
I suspect that they are not going to restore from backup though.

Let me get this right, some one suspected Nick of posting spam and deleted his entire account and posts. That doesn't make sense.

I doubt that. I was posing the scenario that someone trying to sell whisky reported Nick as being "not nice".

From what I understand we won't be reading Nick's posts here again, I'm afraid.

Nearly spot on...
Instead of someone it is something: some rules/scripts have been applied and branded everyone that fitted the profile a spammer and got rid of everything.

The information I got on dumping my account was that it was an error on their side and they were looking to fix it.

Google cache and Wayback archive are at the moment the best chances to re-read the posts.

Thanks for the info because I value Nick's input a lot, but I meant that he won't be posting here anymore I think. He'll stick to whisky x 3.

It does seem as if the forum is entirely out of control, which really makes it a bit pointless posting here.

Right apology time....

In a bid to clear and keep the forums clean of spam, you may all have notice that we were a particular target recently, we instructed one of the chaps here to monitor and get rid of it. Unfortunately there have been a couple of accounts deleted in the process and I am sorry this has happened.
I have been told there is no way to retrieve them form the system, so I apologise for this loss of excellent knowledge. The person has been told to triple check before hitting the delete button for accounts and posts and is sorry as well.
I personally don't think the forums are out of control, we have just had a hiccup trying to sort somethings out. Thanks for bearing with us.

Thanks for the clarifications Rob. We are sad to have lost the contributions from a couple of members.
