What Glenfarclas to get

Looking to get a bottle of Glenfarclas to even my predominantly peaty whisky collection. I'm looking at getting ether the 15y/o or the 105 calk strength bottling. What are some pros/cons/notes of each and which one do you think is better? Also was looking at the 21 but probably won't get that (a bit higher in price then what I want to spend right now) unless people here really think its worth the price difference.

Never had the 105, but IMO the 15 is one of the best balanced OB sherry cask whiskys out there.
I prefer the 15 to the 21 by a fair margin.

Unfortunately, the US doesn't get the 15. But don't feel to bad, we get the 17. I think the 17 is much better than the 21. The 105 has varied in quality through the years. The first batch was great however, subsequent bottles have varied from mediocre to very good. In discussing Glenfarclas with others, the 15 is much more consistent and as Dram says a well balanced whisky. I had the 15 back in 2000 and would agree with Dram's assessment.

@ Ganga, heard good things about the 17 but in Australia unfortunately you can only find it in duty free shops at international airports.

If the 105 varies in quality does anyone know what the latest bash is like? Since the bottle shop that has it seems to have a high turnover rate for that whisky I'm assuming it is the latest batch (its in the standard Glenfarclas short bottle rather then the tall bottles the 105 used to be in). Just out of curiosity what are Glenfarclas's older whiskys like.

The newer squat bottles are more herbal in nature. This is apparent in the 17, 21, and 25. The older bottlings were more nutty and caramel. These qualities are more emphasized rather than missing in either version.
