The Wine Society Special Highland blend

Caol Ila Feis Ile 2012 - 10 years old, reaked of new make so I would have guessed 1-3 years old. Pretty average.
A sherry cask Lochside of which other details I forget. Average nose but a nice hot spice hit on the palate.
Taketsuru 35 - special and very different to the rest of the range.
Benriach 1976 for The Auld Alliance 35YO #3010 45.3% - Another special whisky, a creamy bowl of tropical fruits sprinked with sweet spices.

Glenglassaugh spirit drink, quite enjoyable, just need to think what to do with the rest of the bottle now

Benriach curiostias, rather like a watered down version of uigedail, the overall flavours not quite so integrated but non the less a nice Whisky

Opened the Dalmore Cromartie last night for a wee dram, was delicious.

½ & ½ Isle of Jura Prophecy and Douglas Laing Big Peat... Really liked the manner in which the lingering sweetness of the first played off the Islay thrust of the second! The finish was all honey, smoke and bagfulls of brine.

From last week really, just never posted. Glenlivet's cask bottles, Helios, Josie, and Guardian.

Eagle Rare 10 Year Old ingle Barrel last night. I periodically return to this one, and am usually quite pleasantly surprised. This time around, spiced butterscotch tones came to the fore. And as always, the whiskey was neither too light or heavy in texture... Just a nicely balanced pour with a refreshing edge.

The first pours off the top of a freshly broached bottle of Compass Box The Spice Tree... Immediately obvious that this one's a winner, with a beautifully toasted Cognac-like sheen from the oak input adding considerable character to the malt sweetness. Love it!
