Last night I was drinking the ardbeg blasda it's very good And very morish think I had too many

Well, a lot from Wednesday through yesterday. Some impressive Archives bottlings (thanks WhiskyBase). A rather putrid Bowmore (MMcD, wine sucks). Plus some incredible brews including some Russian River sours.

We all have those regrets TTD. A contemplative malt for sure. Luckily that and the Mac '63 were poured for me by a generous acquaintance.

Tasting with friends. The newbies seemed to like the Bowmore better than anyone else. A'Bunadh (batch 40) was not well appreciated. Single Barrel was my favorite. Aberlour 12 was the favorite of the Aberlours. Galileo was also well-liked.

Also, some partook of Laga 12, Octomore 2.0 and Bowmore 17.

I was surprised how well brownies paired with The Balvenie Single Barrel.

Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel... A surge of citrus (lemon-orange) at the outset followed by a gradually escalating sweetness, then a solid infusion of rye crispness. Delicious.

½ & ½ Ardbeg 10 Year Old and BenRiach 12 Year Old Matured in Sherry Wood (Pédro Ximénez and Oloroso)... Surprised, given the relative proportions of the malts, how well the BenRiach 'stood up to' the Ardbeg. A sort of peat-infused fruitcake flavour profile. Delicious.

Followed that experiment up with some Bowmore 18 Year Old. Beguilingly complex and tasty, if not a patch on the best bottlings of the much more 'exotic' 17 Year Old issued years ago.
