A Cosmopolitan, a little Merlot and then I went to the Malt Shovel in Edinburgh for some jazz and Glenlivet Nadurra. I like it there and they have a good range of whiskies. I was quite surprised to be offered ice in the Nadurra.

Last night I opened the bottle of William Larue Weller Bourbon I had. Initial impression is WOW. Extremely smooth, especially for the proof (62.65%). Nice sweetness on the nose with sugar and vanilla. On the palate it starts really smooth, then the sugary flavors of vanilla and sweet spice develop, and it leaves a nice sweet, drying finish. Very good IMO.

I'll do a more detailed note on this next time around, but I was really impressed!

Earl Grey with a piece of cinnamon bark in the pot. A friend of mine introduced me to this which he calls "Lebanese Tea" - which was a common way to drink tea in Lebanon while he served with the UN forces. It's good - but not "whisky good" of course

Last night i opened a Rosebank 14 yo "High Spirits Collection", a very good light body style. The label is wrong: distilled in May 1988 and bottled in November 2003 (they are more than 15 years), but I don't know what is the mistake.

No mistake Luca: May 1988 to November 2003 is 15.5 years, so the whisky is simply described as a 15 year old.

Tonight I tasted a Ardbeg 10 Years Old from a friend of mine. I liked the as I called it "wood" taste. Later it turned out to be the peat in the whisky. He suggested me this Ardbeg had a lot more stronger peat taste.

I was really surprised by the intense peat taste. One hour later I still had this smokey taste in my mouth. For my first single malt dram not a bad choice
