Hmmm, Aroma is rather interesting, definitely not Scotch, but at this point not bad. A great deal of pine and cedar wood, touch of spices, and a touch of peat smoke. It does smell quite a bit like a carpenters shop.
Taste is very pleasing, sweet somewhat drying. A lot of interesting spices, and the pine and cedar wood notes are there in full force again. In the finish the peat comes back with a lot more spices and fruits. I dare say spiced apple cobbler at the end.
I reiterate not Scotch, but why should all whisky be Scotch? This distillery knows what they are doing.
