Michigan Prices are out of Control on the Macallan 18, the Aberlour 18 and the batch of Abunadh (40) we had was not rated any where near as highly as I would have hoped on Whisky base.

So for the special bottle to celebrate the paper getting accepted to a well known Journal,

I picked up an Old Pulteney 17.

After the disappointment of missing out on the Ichiro's Malt The Game 2nd Edition 2000 11YO #917 59.4%, i'm rejoicing in the fact i just found an unopened box containing 6 bottles of Bladnoch Forum whisky up in the tip room, amongst a pile of boxes full of bric-a-brac and junk. The missus put it there somehow. I need to review my logging in procedures lol.

Bladnoch 20 51.4%
Strathmill 22 54.5%
2 x Glen Spey 21 52.4%
Glen Spey 52.7%
Invergordon Single Grain 24 56.2%

Pete it's one hell of a state to be in when you can't even remember what you puchased. Anyway, well done on the "barn" find. :smoke:

Actually better than most of the Irish Single Malts I've tried. Certainly better than the Tyrconnel bottlings I've tried including some of the more exotic ones.

You must have quite a few Sherry 'zawas already Pete. I guess that's one of the problems with this distillery, how many of the same cask type do you need(if you plan on drinking and not selling)? And you know they actually matured plenty of whisky in other casks but most seems to have gone into their OB's back in the day. I've had/have some of these and other SC non sherried and I've always enjoyed them.

A couple of guys that tasted these at TWE show claimed the sherry cask was very average and the bourbon cask was exceptional.

Of course the sherry cask sold out in a day or so, most never to be opened and coming soon to a whiskyauction near you at twice the price.
