Carlos I Imperial Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez. I've been nursing the contents of this bottle, which I brought back from our trip to Barcelona last autumn, and am now nearing the last few pours.

Superior spirit by any standards.

Picked up a bottle of this last April on my way back from Madrid (£40 - wahoo!). Stunning stuff. I've kept the bottle and it's little glass stopped to use for my...er...homebrews (damson gins etc) as it's a lovely bottle too.

I know less refined, and a bit more whollop, but I prefer Gran Duque D'Alba for it's heavy sherry notes.

Glenmo' Astar. I'm getting that weird mint thing with this whisky. I had it before with Astar, always on a well oiled palate. All i'm getting is mint. Garden mint, peppermint, even a hint of menthol. Very odd.

White Oak Akashi Single Malt Whisky ncf nc 46%. The latest green label version. I have finally decided that this whisky is decidedly average, some good points and some not so good.

Goes down ok though.
