Morrisons have knocked £7 off a selection of their stock. I got a bottle of HP 12 for just over £21. They also have the Glenfiddich Rich Oak (which is very nice) for just under £24. Old Pulteney was around £17.

There was a couple more, but I cant remember which.

Sainsbury's has 20% off all 'branded spirits', which seems to include most, if not all, the malt whiskies. Pretty annoyed to see this meant £6 off 15 yo Dalwinnie, a week after I bought a bottle at full price I think I will be back for more, however.

I noticed that yesterday. They had Lagavulin for £32, but I've still got a bottle from when they did the same deal earlier in the year so I didn't bother. I hope this 20% off is going to become a regular of theirs, and that others follow.

I guess I just have to buy a couple more at discounted price to make up for that

Just tried the Ardmore and i was slightly disappointed, I'm not an expert but this was a bit ordinary, maybe even raw tasting, given that it is non chilled filtered matured in quarter casks and 46%. It also says peated, and it didn't taste very peaty at all, but I am an Islay fan.

If the shelves are empty at the Co-op it's worth asking if they have stock elsewhere, they fetched an extra one for me from somewhere.

On the subject of ASDA, i've not found any in London so far that have more than about 6 single malts. Their website shows a much larger range. Has anyone seen Talisker 10, Bruichladdich Rocks, Auchentoshan in stores in/around London?

Sainsbury's 12 Year Old Islay Malt Whisky is well worth the current 15.19 price. I've not tried the Highland from same range but that one is in the Observer's Christmas list this year.

The Highland is fin, for me, if I'm in the mood its just what I want but also drops below required level if I'd had something decent before. Maybe a MacDuff.
