Lagavulin 16 @ Morrisons in Hinckley currently at £28.79!

Bizarrely, this is the shelf price; it's not listed as a special offer. The label says £28.79 per bottle (£40.60) (or so) per litre. This sounds more like a mis print as the per litre price listed is around the normal bottle price. Not sure if this is specific to my local Morrisons, but worth checking. Quite often see Laphroaig, Talisker et all on good offers, but never Lagavulin (in my experience).

Gone a bit quiet here lately. Many of the usual suspects are on various offers around the supermarkets, but worthy of mention is the bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 I picked up today at Sainsburys for £20.

Yes. All the supermarket brand malts are worth a shot here in the UK. Sainsbury's and Tesco are currently very good.

A few things caught by eye in Waitrose:

Auchentoshan Classic (not 12 yr old) 20.99
Old Pulteney 12 22.06
Glenlivet 18 32.79

Glenlivet 12 no longer on offer and cheaper elsewhere.

And not a supermarket, but Gatwick Whisky place has

Mackmyra - The First Edition 1litre 39.99

Tesco have many offers, more interesting ones

Glenfiddich 12 20.00
Glenmorangie 10 20.00
Glenlivet 12 20.00
Highland Park 12 22.70
Laphroaig Quarter Cask 24.79
Old Pulteney 12 20.00
Talisker 10 25.24 (some with RNLI donation)
Jim Beam Red Stag 16.31
Old Samuel Blended Bourbon 11.49 (exceptional value, silver iwsc 2011, strangely named distributor!)

Some of the above i've only seen at larger stores.

Co-op is doing same prices on Glenmorangie and Glenfiddich.

Thanks for the tip off. They're doing the same deal with Glenfiddich 12 and Isle of Jura.

That time of the year again, ones that caught my eye:

Saisbury
Singleton 24.28
JW Black: 21.99
Bushmills Black Bush: 19.15

Waitrose
Talisker 10: 23.77
Laphroaig Quarter Cask: 26.50
Glentlivet 18: 33.70
Glenmorganie Nectar D'Or: 32.60
JW Green: 26.39
JW Red: 15.50
Bushmills 10: 24.40
HP 12: 25

Tesco:
Glenlivet 12: 21
Glenfiddich 12: 21
Glenmorangie: 21
HP 12: 24.85
(Remy Martin: 23.50)

Sainsbury doesn't seem to be very competitive at the moment, will be interesting to see if there are further discounts.

Some decent/unusual offers noted recently:

Waitrose (some bottles may be found on special promotion shelves)
Laphroaig Quarter Cask 25.20
Talisker 10 25.60
Bowmore 12 23.84
Old Pulteney 12 23.60
Auchentoshan 22.99
Glenlivet 12 19.99
Maker's Mark 21.69
Lagavulin 16 35.44

Tesco
Glenmorangie 10 22
Glenlivet 12 22
Talisker 10 25
Dalwhinnie 15 25
Balvenie Doublewood 25
Highland Park 12 25
Johnnie Walker Black 22.00
Jura 10 22
Singleton of Dufftown 12 22

Sainsbury
Glenfiddich 12 21.85
Jura 10 22.15
Highland Park 12 25
Jura Superstition 21.80

Majestic
Maker's Mark 20

I've not see the Tesco 12 Year Old Islay Malt Whisky, has anyone tried this? The Sainsbury equivalent is very good.

Probably some offers on at ASDA but the stock is always very unpredictable at my local one. From a blog post i see there was a few bottles at 20 quid mid November so worth waiting for same promotion to return.

Our co-op only accepts genuine vouchers. Not print offs. Lovely artwork though.

I picked up a Glenmorangie. I would have got an Ardmore but they'd all gone.

Picked up a bottle of Makers Mark for £20 from Sainsburys today, not had a bourbon for probably 20 odd years but fancied a change from the speyside, highlands and islay's - I've not got that sweet a tooth so risky - but you don't know if you don't try!
