Whisky Band Name?

Postby Choochoo » Wed Apr 05, 2006 7:59 pm

The members of my band have tasked me with finding an acceptable name. I seem to be incapable of doing such, so I though some of you might be able to recommend a good name or two for us, preferably with some sort of whisky connection (anything from the most conventional to incredibly obscure is fine).

We’ve been playing almost two years. We play originals, sort of arty rock-n-roll songs. We sound like a “bar band’, but since we have a lot of connections in the art community, we end up playing more art gallery/art openings than bars – go figure. But none of that really matters, we just need a dumb name for now. So any suggestions from this esteemed international fellowship would be greatly appreciated. Any ideas?

A whole world (or at least Scotland) of possibilities.

You could play with the word "Peat" in place of "beat".

Immediately coming to mind is something like "The Peatnicks".

Or you could just select a place name, Jura, Iona .......

C'mon guys...they might be good. Would you like a crowd in front of you shouting:
Pot Pipes, Pot Pipes, Pot Pipes!!!

In the same vein, why not:
The Worm Brothers
The Peat Cowboys
The Mash Choir
Dipstick Boys
The Feints
Heavy Coppers
The Still Machine
The Lyne's
The Grist Men

....no, just forget about it....

We could just be Whiskytown, I'm sure there would be no need for a law suit over that.

Cool idea - but it makes me think about twisting Kipling's words: Peat is peat and Nick is Nick and never the twain shall meet! 8)

The Foreshots. Sounds vaguely obscene. Toxic, too.

I always wanted to name a band Malt Barley & The Alers, but that won't work for you.

I assume WhiskyHammer meant Port Pipes! Interesting slip, though.

Mr. T. Not quite, the "slip" or playing with words was quite intentional.
But I do agree this may not offer the required image.

Or there again ...............?

Hi all,

Don't know if it's a kind of rockband? But what do you think of:

Dramnation

:)

If you are American and play barroom stuff, why not try something from the world of bourbon - how about:

Heaven Hill
Bardstown
Small Batch
Straight Rye
