I was drinking a nice pinot this evening and, in a quiet moment and for no apparent reason, I moistened my index finger on my tongue and then glided it along the rim of the Bordeaux glass. I don't have the musical ear to know what pitch resounded but it was quite pleasant and harmonious. In an inspired moment I decided I should try the trick with a Glencairn glass. I poured myself a Bushmills and repeated the process. However, the sound that emanated was not the same. I thought it sounded like an old door on squeaky hinges. My better half was more poetic and said, "Please stop doing that. It sounds like you're scrubbing the soap scum off the shower door." Could it be the Bushmills? I poured myself a 'Laddie and the sound was the same. Nevertheless, I aim to keep trying. I've had a bit to drink but, dammit, I'm at home and I can experiment with Macallan cs, Ardbeg 17, Laphroaig 10, and several others. What whisky is the most harmonious?
