I met C_I at the Speyside festival as we were both at the same B&B in Elgin and the nice chap from Cadenheads (sorry I can't remember your on-line name, I'm out of my element!) and Monday I met Willie JJ for a few (!!) drams, had an excellent time!

Cheers!

This time around, I didn't meet anyone "new" from the forum, but it certainly was lovely to see everyone together and enjoying one another's company at the Spirit of Toronto festival.

Met up with bobby(b) yesterday at Bruichladdich , today at The Maltings caught up with Patrick (Corbuso) who also let me look at his bottle of Port Ellen ( well done for getting that !) . Just as we were finishing lunch in The Old Kiln Newbie came across and introduced himself .
Still have to see the others who i know are here , hopefully Willie will be either tonight or Wed morning and hopefully John McGill and Vitara7 will show at some point !
Hope they are enjoying the sun and festivities as much as we are .

Wille j j, Nick Brown, Brucecrichton, Yangbrucey, Leither, Butephoto (almost forgot the 'e')

And perhaps Lawrence.

Are you the Lawrence from Canada with the camera case fitted out for bottles?

If you are then I'm the guy from behind the bar at the vaults, we had a few drams back at my flat when I lived over the road. Despite attempts to meet up since its been unpossible. Next time.....

If you're not him I've not met you (yet)

There were so many forum members at the Whisky Fringe that it is impossible to count. The ones that I remember speaking to were, in order of meeting:

bobbyb
butephoto
Leither
The Fachan
Redland Hill
jmrl
Nick Brown
Oiler_Kiwi99
toshie

Apologies to anyone I forgot, or anyone that I was speaking to whose forum name I don't know, or didn't connect. I know many others were there, but there was so little time for proper talking (and proper tasting).

Cheers

I know coffee .... my fault though being off the gargle, I was on call also so a double whammy otherwise we might of met for a sly one.

Good to meet and hopefully we'll create ever decreasing circles and eventually all contacts will form the nucleus o an Irish Whiskey Club

Ryan, I wish we could have met, but I didn't realize how little control I had over our schedule here. HAHA. Visiting Maine with parents, sister and nephew, and I knew we should have tried to squeeze in two more days of time here.

Finally back at the hotel in Bangor, and I fly out tomorrow morning at 6:30 AM EST.

Next time for sure, and good to place the voice with the typing at least.

Cheers...

Oh, phone calls count? Then, I've spoken to Mr Fjeld on the 'phone, just before we were going to do a live tasting. I thought it might be nice to put a voice to a name, so gave him a quick call. I certainly surprised him, I guess the Canuck accent is a bit of a surprise when you're expecting Norwegian!

A few weeks ago I pm'ed Sampaio for some info on whisky in Lisboa, Portugal. He replied that I had to call him on arrival. We made an appointment in a whisky shop/museum(12000 bottles).
We tasted a few fine whiskies: Nikka Black, Yoichi 10(?), Bruichladdich 15, Blantons Gold and A'bunadh #23. And a Portuguese drink called Aguaventura bottled in 1937! This drink had an everlasting finish.
After the whisky we had a delicate lunch.
I had a nice day with some nice conversation, whiskies and food. Hopefully we'll doi this again one day.
Thanks João for making this possible.

It's nice to meet people of the forum hope to do it again.

It was a very surprising and also very nice telephone call; a soft and most pleasant canadian accent which makes you feel comfortable. I swear that if I didn't know it was Peter and he called right now he would probably succeed in selling me shares in Lehman Brothers :D

I'm looking forward to speak to Peter again :)

I haven't met anyone from the forum because I am a sybaritic self-indulgent nitwit of a misanthropic ponce. I'd be too afraid someone would rape me or abuse me in some terribly atrocious, yet fabulously trendy, sexual manner. Or so I would hope.

Just today, I met my very first Forumite - Les Taylor. He came up to Milton Keynes to pick up some malts that I'd got him. Unfortunately, Les and I had an all too brief yammer over a coffee. But it was brilliant to put a face to a name.

Maybe, I'll bump into another Forumite or two in Edinburgh. I'm up two or three times a year to see my father-in-law, who stays in Chesser.
